Dearly beloved friends:
With profound joy I want to tell you about the present engraving that carries the name:
S.Dei.Genitrix
The title of this engraving refers to the Holy Mother of God, in other words to the inner Divine Mother or Devi-Kundalini of our studies. With Gnosis all of us who study it already know that She, the Lady of Heaven, has five manifestations, namely:
- Cosmic Mother.
- Mother Nature.
- Devi-Kundalini.
- Mother Death.
- Elemental Mage.
In all these manifestations, the Eternal Divine Feminine, God Mother, is always the generator of life in its various versions. For this reason, we see the birth of a great tree from her womb, a living allusion to the Tree of Life or Sephirotic Tree. She is the generator, certainly, of what is infinitely small –for example, the atoms– or of what is infinitely large –the universes–. It is for this reason that, gnostically, for us she is the great matrix of the Universe, also called in the East MULAPRAKRITI or cosmic womb that must be fecundated by the ray of the most holy Okidanokh.
The tree of our theme is full of fruits, specifically grapes, because the vine symbolizes the very blood of the Cosmic Christ, whom we see at the top of it in the form of an infant and above Him the Third Logos of the Kabbalah, that is, the Holy Spirit, who takes on the form of a white dove according to the Christian religious conception.
Without any doubt, the Divine Mother has the Holy Spirit as her husband and both are the source of nourishment of the Lord of Perfections –the intimate Christ–. That is the reason why these divine forces are shown in the present engraving.
We see the Divine Mother sitting on a rock –an allegory of sex in the Christian Holy Scriptures–. Sexuality is the concrete basis that will help us connect with the Sacred Fire of our Divine Lady.
When we try to interpret the sentences written in Latin that accompany our engraving we then find Nix Tecta Igni Ardes. Translation: ‘You, hidden ─or covered─ snow, shine with ─or by─ the fire’.
Here is a reference to the Mercury of the sages whitened like snow. Undoubtedly, the whitened mercurial waters shine thanks to the philosophical Fire.
Next we have: S ─ancta─ DEI GENETRIX, Coeli terraeque triumphant, et partu exultan mundus, et astra tuo. Translation: ‘Holy Mother of God, the heavens and the earth triumph and the world and the stars are exultant for your birth’.
This phrase encompasses the joy of the Macrocosm and of the Microcosm as they contemplate creation in the superior worlds of Consciousness and in the three-dimensional world.
Mons NIVE TECTA jacet, divino si ARSERIS IGNE.
Huic vitam et vitem, tu, pia virgo, paris.
Translation:
‘The mountain is covered by hidden snow, if you burned from divine Fire,
to whom you, pious virgin, bestow life and vine’.
The mountain becomes an allusion to the path that is hidden within Mercury itself, whitened by virtue of the action of the Sacred Fire.
The words written on the tree are these: QUASI VITIS FRUCTUOSISSIMA.
On the parchment on the left we can read: SCIENTIA INTELLECTUS TIMORIS.
The one on the right reads: CONSILII FORTITUDINIS PIETATIS.
The reading of other phrases present here must be done in this order: ‘Like a fruitful vine, knowledge is the comprehension of divine fear, prudence and piety’.
All of the above speaks to us of the need to make the real knowledge of divine fear fruitful within us and, likewise, the urgency of comprehending the virtues of prudence and piety. Those who feel superior to the very BEING lack the comprehension of what the Eternal means within our animic structure. Likewise, we cannot ignore that our spiritual advancement is and will always be linked to the mercy we develop towards our fellow men and the prudence we have achieved when treading the Secret Path.
